Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos

Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, co-founder and President/COO of Flag Luxury Group, is a distinguished developer in luxury hotels and retail entertainment. With visionary leadership, she has shaped landscapes in cities like Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas, and NYC. Dayssi, a Cornell University alumna, excels in transforming spaces and setting industry standards.

Her commitment extends to philanthropy, founding The Friends of New Yorkers for Children and serving on Save Venice’s board. Recognized with awards like CRE Women in Real Estate and the Casita Maria Medal of Honor, she’s a 2023 Platinum Circle Honoree. Beyond achievements, she co-founded the Woman’s Day Power Series, empowering women in business. Dayssi’s legacy in luxury hospitality reflects her leadership, vision, and commitment to excellence, making her a true industry icon.

Sophia Kanavos

Sophia Kanavos is an acquisitions and development associate at Flag Luxury Group, a real estate development company with a primary focus on luxury hotels, boutique hotels and retail development in Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas and New York City. Driven by her passion for real estate and hospitality, Sophia attended Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration where she received a B.S. in Hotel Administration and a minor in Real Estate. Prior to her current role, Sophia joined Starwood Capital Group on the Originations team for Starwood Property Trust (NYSE: STWD).

Sophia currently serves on the Young Friends Steering Committee of Save Venice, which is the largest private foundation that restores art and architecture in Venice. She is the co-founder of Women’s Power Series, an organization whose mission is to empower female entrepreneurs and business professionals by creating a platform for women to come together, share their stories, and learn from each other’s experiences. She has been an active volunteer and participant of New Yorker’s for Children, supporting children in foster care through initiatives in education, mentoring, and career opportunities, as well as Memorial Sloan Kettering and The Whitney Museum.
